Platformaruga is Entered into Indiecade 2011

Well, I’ve entered Platformaruga into the Indiecade game competition.  I got it in just under the wire at 11:57pm (deadline was midnight). 

Unfortunately my submission isn’t anywhere near as finished as I would have liked.  I still plan to update the game regularly – I am not sure whether their evaluation starts immediately or on June 15th (Late Submission Deadline).

Here is the latest build of my game Platformaruga – I’ve got about 8 levels done at this juncture.  I am entering this game in Indiecade, and trying to finish this game by the deadline on May 31.  Oy.  Maybe finish will be a relative term.

Platformaruga Concept Sketches

So I was fooling around with how to frame the idea of switching colors to avoid different colored obsticles.  The two most compelling ideas were the idea of switching from human to ghost or from fire to ice.  In addition to changing color, I thought that it would be neat to have the characters attributes change while in the different forms.  

Here are the idea sketches – I am leaning towards the fire/ice:
