This is an incredible lecture about game design given by Jonathan Blow. At one point he actually compares Game Designers to parasites.

“In a sense we’ve found a way to engineer our way around boredom, right? And take a relatively pointless game that’s about clicking on things and not doing anything real and adding production values to it, and turning it into something a lot of people want to play.”
